mangariini
about
mangariini is a small utility for reading scanned comics, particularly manga. unlike other image viewers, it opens everything at once, and scrolls between pages easily. it isn't the most stable program on the planet, but in most cases it works perfectly fine.
mangariini is public domain software. the source code is provided, and you can do whatever you want with it, just don't expect it to come with verbose documentation.
if you do decide to do something with it, it would be nice if you would let us know, so we can then either add it here as a new release, or at the very least link to your new project.
the current version is 0.1.2, it was released on 22 NOV 2004.
features
mangariini doesn't have a huge featureset, it's mostly toggles. here's a rundown of what you get.
wishlist
mangariini isn't an incredibly featureful program, but it gets the job done. here are some things that we think would be nice for someone to add.
screenshots
not much to show here, but just for the sake of things, here are two screenshots.
download
at the moment we just have a windows build. linux and mac builds should be possible, but we haven't been able to make/test one. details on how to help with that below. the windows build is a 7zip self-extracting exe.
since this is public domain, here's the source. as stated previously, feel free to make your own build, modify the code, etc, all we ask is that you let us know if/when you do something. we'd also like some contrib builds of this code on other platforms, if possible. here's what the readme has to say about building:
"You need wxWindows to build it. The makefile has some sort of support for building with mingw under Windows, and also for Linux and friends. The makefile will probably need tweaking under Windows, since it's pretty hardcoded for my system. To build for Windows, run "make". For Linux and such, "make os=unix"."
older builds, if you really want them for some reason, can be found in the archive.
known bugs & bug reporting
we know it crashes occasionally. we know it doesn't build easily. we know it chokes if you attempt to load 800 megs of 30,000x40,000px jpgs. we know auto-leveling is somewhat weird. please don't tell us these things, because we already know. if you come up with something brand new, or even better - if you come up with a FIX for something - then you should contact us. it would also be appreciated if you could find a reproducable test-case for the random crashing.
